Hi! We are glad you are here! My name is Laurie and I have been working in the mental health field since 2002 in various positions including direct care staff, ARMHS, Case Management, Substance Use/Treatment Facility Therapist, and Private Practice.  

​

Born and raised in Cass Lake, MN on Leech Lake Reservation, I am a direct decedent of White Earth Reservation.  My family moved to the Grand Rapids area when I was 10, where I attended Greenway and graduated High School from. 

After high school, I attended college locally at Itasca Community College where my interest in Psychology, human behavior and understanding the brain and behaviors began.   From there, I went on to complete both my undergraduate and graduate degrees both at Bemidji State University with a Master’s in Clinical Counseling. 

Prior to opening my own private practice, I worked for a local non-profit mental health agency for over 18 years, from 2002-2019 and in September of 2019 began a new journey of Private Practice Therapy and have been serving our community in this manner. 

My niche and area of expertise include working with women, mothers, and teenage girls. My goal is to offer a therapeutic experience that feels personal, safe, calming, and inviting.

In my personal time, I enjoy spending time with my family, traveling, and recently became a grandmother! What a joy! We love animals and have 5 pets, we love fishing, hunting, being outdoors, exercise, music, and spending time with family, especially my little grandbaby. 
 
In the last couple of years, I have taken an interest in integrative services, and learning to understand and treat mental health through nutrition, sleep patterns, supplements, and other ways of changing habits. Please keep checking back for new additions and changes!
